GRAPHICS

Choosing the right graphics card can make all the difference to your PC. There are three main criteria to consider when choosing your graphics card. First is its power which directly relates to the complexity of the scenes it can render, the resolution of the output and the speed at which the card can update the screen. Secondly the number of pixel pipelines a Graphics Card has determines how many functions can be carried out per clock cycle and has a significant effect on the quality of image rendered. Lastly consider the amount and type of on board RAM, it’s used as a buffer to store all of the data required by the graphics card to render a scene so the more you have and the faster it is the better.

Depending on your intended use included software like Power DVD 5.0 would be of great benefit especially as Windows™ Media Player 10 upwards now requires you to purchase DVD functionality as an optional upgrade. If you’re planning on using your PC for productivity then being able to span your work environment over two monitors would create a visually ergonomic desktop or if you just want to play great games, being able to connect your PC up to that 32 inch widescreen TV in the lounge could prove irresistable!
